San Antonio Air Traffic Control Tower

TJ&B Air conditioning and Electric was contracted by Federal Aviation Administration to upgrade the HVAC systems in the tower and base support building. We installed temporary AC throughout the entire facility to maintain a 100% working environment. The scope of work was the recovery of refrigerant and the replacement of all HVAC units, VAVs, ductwork and registers. This included added new electrical panels, breakers, and wiring. All VAVs and associated hot water piping were replaced. All exhaust fans were replaced throughout the building along with interlocking louvers. During a hazardous material survey, asbestos and mold were identified and we performed asbestos abatement and mold remediation. At the conclusion of the construction, we provided programming and training of the new DDC controls to include certified systems testing and balance.

Orlando Doppler Radar Facility

TJ&B Air conditioning and Electric was contracted by Federal Aviation Administration to upgrade the existing HVAC system with (2) 20-ton split system AC units. We provided 100% refrigerant recovery, demolition of units, registers, refrigerant piping, and electrical. We installed 2 new systems on angle iron stands with associated copper refrigerant piping. New controls were installed along with new electrical connections. We provided systems evacuation, start up, and charge units.

Myrtle Beach Airport Surveillance Radar

TJ&B Air conditioning and Electric was contracted by Federal Aviation Administration to upgrade the existing HVAC system with (2) 25-ton package AC units. We provided 100% refrigerant recovery, demolition of units, exterior duct. We installed new exterior duct, and 2 new systems on concrete pads. The installation included new DDC controls, associated electrical wiring that was run to new stainless steel disconnects along with new TVSS (Transient Voltage Suppressors). Low ambient controls to zero degrees were installed along with winter start capability.

Milwaukee Air Traffic Control Tower

TJ&B Air conditioning and Electric was contracted by Federal Aviation Administration to upgrade the HVAC systems in the tower and base support building. The scope of work included the installation of temporary AC throughout the entire facility to maintain 100% operational environment. We provided 100% refrigerant recovery and the replacement of all HVAC units to include, (2) 30-ton rooftop combination cool/gas heat units, one 32-ton split system AC unit with all associated refrigerant piping, and one Carrier mini-split system in the ASDE room. We installed new VAVs with associated hot water piping, ductwork, two Steam humidifiers and all electrical connections. We upgraded and programmed the DDC controls to include the installation of a new UPS system and provided all the operation/maintenance training for the new system. Project was concluded by providing certified systems test and balance.

Cummington Mass. Air Route Surveillance Radar

TJ&B Air conditioning and Electric was contracted by Federal Aviation Administration to replace 2 packaged AC systems set on the ground. We removed and replaced all interior duct work and exterior duct system to include insulation and waterproof coatings. Steel ice shields with concrete foundations were installed to provide winter protection to the exterior systems. We provided an electrical upgrade and new electric heats to include a new control system with a GFE OAS 2.5 control panel. We installed duct stands and footers for support to include the overall repairs to the shed on site and an rebuild of an “out” building that was a complete rehab including a new garage door, rafters, and roof.

Key West Air Traffic Control Tower

TJ&B Air conditioning and Electric was contracted by Federal Aviation Administration to upgrade the HVAC system the tower. This involved the 100% refrigerant recovery and the removal of all HVAC rooftop units and wall units. We replaced these units with a Mitsubishi City multi system with electronic controls and 5 indoor cooling units. This included the installation of a pump and supply piping for supplying water to a “washdown” system (defogger) for the CAB windows along with the control system. We replaced the electric water heaters at multiple locations, provided new bathroom fixtures on the 4th floor along with new copper supply piping and drainage piping. An entire electrical upgrade was provided along with wiring from the transformer, new main breaker panels, and TVSS’s.
